Curaçao’s first full-scale entertainment and hospitality destination PARADISO Curaçao marks a new chapter for the island: a place where music, culture, hospitality, and daily life naturally come together. 

The venue offers a glimpse of how Curaçao’s hospitality scene is evolving through thoughtful design, day-to-night programming, and an atmosphere that reflects the island’s layered identity.

THE BIRTH

OF A

LANDMARK

Set within a 3,500 m² building now being fully reimagined, the former closed-off structure will open up as one of the area’s most significant public-facing developments. Light, transparency, and a renewed sense of welcome guide the transformation. At its center, a green, Babylon-inspired courtyard will connect the various spaces and bring the building to life.

THE

BUILDING

Origins and Evolution

The area was originally developed as an entertainment district with theatres and restaurants, but later fell into serious disrepair and has been completely renovated since the beginning of the 21st century, with many colourful buildings restored.

Area development

Pietermaai was originally a suburb of Willemstad, intended as an entertainment district with theatres and restaurants.

Decline and recovery

After a period of decline, particularly in the early 2000s, the area has been completely redeveloped. For travelers who want culture, restaurants, and nightlife on the doorstep, inside a UNESCO urban setting, Pietermaai is the sweet spot.

In the heart of Pietermaai, on the outskirts of Willemstad,  stands a sleeping icon. The former home of the Curaçaosche Courant, the local newspaper of the island. Designed around 1950 by Dutch architect ir. C.M. Bakker, the building is a rare island example of new mid-century modernism. Clean horizontal and vertical lines, flat roof and smooth plastered façades across two interlocking volumes of two storeys. Time has left its patina. Shutters creak, paint softens, and the old newsroom hush lingers, yet the bones are beautiful. The site’s architectural value is undeniable: a beacon on a prominent corner, made for people-watching and city life. Now, the presses give way to pulse. We’re restoring the old newspaper building into a vibrant entertainment and hospitality destination. Think green lively courtyards, restaurants, a café where headlines become conversations and stages. Original details are celebrated, not erased; the architecture sets the tone, the programming brings the party.

From sunrise to last call, this area evolves with the clock. Mornings open gently: artisanal brunch boards, aromatic coffees, and cozy work nooks set to the mellow sounds of a solo musician—ideal for emails, meet-ups, or a gently start to the day. 

As afternoon fades, the lights dim and the tempo turns up. Dinner arrives with a vibrant show. Full-band grooves, vocalists, or pop-up performers igniting the stage while seasonal dishes and crafted cocktails flow. It’s one area with multiple atmospheres.

This cozy concept store offers a carefully curated mix of products, accessories, and unique goods — from in-house creations to locally made products and finds from across the wider South American region.

Here you can grab your coffee and pastries, perfect for early risers and tourists. More than just a retail corner, this space adds daytime energy and creates an additional stream of revenue, especially during morning and midday hours.

Behind the bar, our mixologists shake up the best cocktails in town and back them with the largest range of shots you’ll find anywhere—perfect fuel for every toast.

Dancers keep the pulse alive, translating the music’s heartbeat into motion and drawing everyone into the groove. Luga is a great bar to celebrate all day, turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.

ABOUT

Plu Property NV is a well-established entity under the laws of the the Caribbean island the land of Curacao. Over the years they have been involved in construction and renovation of historical buildings. 

Their main target is to keep preserve authentic and historical buildings for future generations in a UNESCO selected area., Pund and Pietermaai. 

All projects are privately funded through a familly foundation with a solid background and firstclass reputation in various industries. Details will only be disclosed upon request and serious potential partners.
